Houston Area MMVS one day retreat held at St. Thomas Indian Orthodox Cathedral-Houston.
Houston Area MMVS one day retreat was held on Saturday April 18th from 9.30am -12.30pm at St. Thomas Orthodox Cathedral-Houston and was a blessed event. Rev. Fr. Dr. Bijesh Philip, Principal Orthodox Theological Seminary Nagpur was the keynote speaker for the retreat.
The Theme for the conference was ‘Become Partakers of Divine Nature’ (2nd Peter Chapter1: Versus 4 ). The clergies in attendance were Very Rev. Gheevarghis Aroopala Cor Episcopa ( Vicar St. Thomas Indian Orthodox Cathedral-Houston ) and Rev Fr. Rajesh K John ( Vice President Diocesan MMVS, Vicar St. Gregorios Orthodox Church-Houston ).
90 plus MMVS members from all local area Parishes (St. Stephens Orthodox Church-Houston, St. Gregorios Orthodox Church-Houston, St. Mary’s Orthodox Church-Houston, and St. Thomas Cathedral-Houston ) attended the retreat.
Mrs. Susie Kuruvilla ( Houston Area MMVS Regional Secretary ) welcomed everyone to the retreat and Mrs. Nirmala Abraham ( MMVS unit Secretary St. Thomas Cathedral-Houston ) moved the Vote of Thanks. Mrs. Suni Samuel, (Unit MMVS Treasurer- St. Gregorios Orthodox Church-Houston) was the Emcee of the event.
Mrs. Sheeba Cherian( MMVS unit Secretary St. Mary’s Orthodox Church-Houston ), Mrs. Jaya George ( MMVS unit Secretary St. Stephens Orthodox Church-Houston), Mrs.Runo Varghese ( MMVS unit Joint Secretary St. Stephens Orthodox Church-Houston), Mrs. Simi Puthooran ( MMVS unit Secretary St. Gregorios Orthodox Church-Houston) actively participated and coordinated the event. The retreat concluded with Benediction and lunch for all the participants.
