Reverend Deacon Teji Abraham to the Holy order of Priesthood (Kasheesho).
The Diocese of South-West America of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church announces the ordination of Reverend Deacon Teji Abraham to the Holy order of Priesthood (Kasheesho) on Saturday, September 28, 2012 at his home parish St. Mary's Orthodox Church of India, Carrollton, Texas.
Morning Prayer will begin at 7:30 AM followed by Holy Qurbana and the Service of Ordination. The Diocesan Metropolitan, His Grace Alexios Mar Eusebius, will be the chief celebrant.
Mar Eusebius, Metropolitan of the Diocese of South-West America, has ordained Seminarian Teji Abraham, to the Holy Order of Full-Deacon (M’shamshono) on June 30, 2012 at St. Mary's Orthodox Church of India, Carrollton, Texas.
Deacon Teji Abraham graduated in May 2012 from St. Vladimir's Orthodox Seminary in Yonkers, New York.
Deacon Teji is currently appointed as the Director of Curriculum Development for Sunday Schools of the Outside India Region of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church. He has always had a love of Scripture, Church history, ministry, pastoral work, missions, and the music, depth, and richness of the Syriac tradition. He has served the MGOCSM in many ways, including being the second Dallas Area MGOCSM Coordinator and being on the MGOCSM Missions Committee for all the missions trips from 2008. He served as the General Treasurer of MGOCSM of North America for 2011-2012.
After graduating with a degree in Mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin, he taught high school mathematics in Plano, Texas. Deacon Teji is married to Mrs. Linju Abraham with daughter Elishuba born in January 2013 and is the son of Mr. Thomas K. Abraham and Mrs. Sosamma Thomas, who are members of St. Mary's Orthodox Church of India, Carrollton, Texas.
