Diocesan Metropolitan visits seminaries in New York
Crestwood, NY. : From October 23-25, H.G. Alexios Mar Eusebius, Diocesan Metropolitan of South West America, visited students from his diocese, at St. Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary in Crestwood, NY. Over the course of his stay, His Grace led worship in the St. Thomas Malankara Orthodox Chapel, which is located in the seminary, and met with students, staff, and faculty of the seminary.
Mar Eusebius also met with Very Rev. Fr. Dr. John Behr, Dean of the Seminary and Professor of Patristics and Dr. John Barnet, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Associate Professor of New Testament, regarding the further development of the close relationship between the Malankara Orthodox Church and St. Vladimir's Seminary and also the development of an Oriental and Malankara Orthodox curriculum for Malankara students attending the seminary.
Mar Eusebius also visited St. Nersess Armenian Seminary in New Rochelle, NY. His Grace met with the Most Rev. Archbishop Yeghishe Gizirian, Spiritual Father of St. Nersess Seminary, Very Rev. Fr. Daniel Findikyan, Dean of the Seminary and Professor of Armenian Studies, and Rev. Fr. Untzag Nalbandian, Adjunct Professor of Liturgical Praxis. His Grace also visited with students and faculty of St. Nersess and celebrated evening worship along with Archbishop Yeghishe at the seminary chapel.
