New General Secretaries appointed for OCYM and MGOCSM

H.H. Baselios Marthoma Didymus I Catholicos appointed Fr. Varghese Varghese , as the new General Secretary of Mar Gregorios Orthodox Christian Students Movement (MGOCSM ), and Fr. Stephen Varghese as the new General Secretary of Orthodox Christian Youth Movement (OCYM).

Fr. Varghese Varghese was the General Secretary of Orthodox Christian Youth Movement (OCYM) 2003-2006.  The new term for the General Secretary will be three years.Fr. Varghese is one of the highly  talented  convention speakers of  the Church.Fr. Varghese Varghese hails from the Kalloor family at Meenadom, Kottayam. He  was the General Secretary of the Orthodox Christian Youth Movement from 2003- 2005. He has also served  the Church  as  Media Cell Chief. Fr. Dr. V.M. Abraham, the previous General Secretary of MGOCSM, elevated as Metropolitan and Fr. Varghese Varghese’s appointment is to fill the vacancy.

From June 15th, 2010. Fr. Stephen Varghese took on his newly appointed role as the new General Secretary of the Orthodox Christian Youth Movement, as appointed by H.H Didymus I Catholicos.  Fr. Stephen served the OCYM as member of the Central Committee, and Managing Editor of Yuvajanam, a monthly magazine published by OCYM. He was also the Director of Divya Jyothi of Chengannur Diocese.  His home diocese is Chengannur diocese and his home parish is Kudassanad St. Stephens. Rev Fr. Spencer Koshy is the outgoing General Secretary. He had served the OCYM successfully from 2007 onwards after Fr. Varghese Varghese .

Both the MGOCSM and OCYM have been blessed with visionary leaders who continue to steer the existing generation towards Christ by leading by example. MGOCSM has been guiding students since 1908. OCYM has been guiding its youth members since 1933.
