Our fathers taught us that the altar assistants are like angels serving God. The Holy Altar is the seat of our Lord Jesus Christ by virtue of the Body and Blood placed there. All the clergy and the altar assistants are servants to the Lord. That service must be carried out in utmost humility, solemnity, serenity, rectitude and sanctity.
